🗣️ "...it's not going to be day one. It's not going to be day 100 and it doesn't look like it will be day 1,000 either. So when will HS2 trains run from Central London to Scotland?"

My full contribution from this week's BEIS Committee Session. The forced installation of expensive pre-payment meters in the homes of energy customers – and how this was allowed to happen - is being investigated by cross-party MPs from two parliamentary Committees. Chris O’Shea: Chief Executive at Centrica plc.
My contribution on the Non-Domestic Alternative Fuel Payment.
My contribution from BEIS Committee on the role of UK energy network operators in achieving the government’s target of decarbonising the power sector by 2035. My colleagues and I questioned industry representatives on whether the state of network infrastructure is holding back progress towards net-zero ambitions, and will ask energy regulators Ofgem what it intends to do to ensure the networks are fit for the future.
Chris Burchell: Managing Director at Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks (SSEN) Distribution
Alice Delahunty: President at National Grid Electricity Transmission
Basil Scarsella: Chief Executive at UK Power Networks (UKPN)
Lawrence Slade: Chief Executive at Energy Networks Association (ENA)
"So will the Government do the right thing, step up and back tidal stream and allow Scotland to continue being a world leader?"
My contribution to the Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy Committee’s questioning of Royal Mail’s Simon Thompson, Keith Williams, and Ricky McAulay.
My full contribution for the independent review of net zero
Another constituent case raised at #BusinessQuestions
"...I am all for clamping down on tax avoidance but can we get a Gov. Statement on why UK banks are so beholding to the United States? And what steps is the Gov. taking to protect law-abiding British taxpayers?"
"It's absolutely pitiful." That's what the National Vice Chair and Chair of Policy & Advocacy for Federation of Small Businesses had to say about the Chancellor's Energy Discount Scheme.
"... the reality is the UK is the only G7 country facing a recession this year. So is that due to Tory incompetence? Or is it the Brexit dividend?"
My Urgent Question from earlier.
