Green Deal Petition Hand Over 23/10/18
/As SNP Spokesperson for Energy I summed up a debate held in Westminster Hall in relation to people all across the UK who have been mis-sold solar panels by the company HELMS – now in administration.
After the debate in Westminster Hall he hand over a petition to the Deputy Speaker of the House, Sir Lindsay Hoyle MP. The petition was signed by constituents of Kilmarnock and Loudoun urging the UK Government to take responsibility for their actions and compensate those affected, and further ensure this will not happen again:
No Deal Brexit Lunacy 25/10/18
/The Government have drawn up plans to import emergency food and medicine in the wake of a No Deal Brexit. Today I asked what level of lunacy is required before they resolve this issue by simply keeping the EU, Single Market and Customs Union:
Electoral Fraud Question 18/10/18
/I raised the issue of electoral fraud once again in Parliament.
For the record, the SNP are the only mainstream political party never to have committed electoral fraud.
The Electoral Commission are concerned the 'penalties' being dished out to parties in breach of this are not doing enough to prevent it from happening in the future.
Given the 'punishment' for committing the offence is a small fine, I asked what measures can be put in place to prevent those guilty from getting off lightly in the future:
Universal Credit Question 16/10/18
/UK Government continuing to pedal the myth that Universal Credit somehow magics people into jobs! Yet since last year there are 930 more people registered unemployed in my constituency - a 54% increase.
Electoral Fraud Question 12/9/18
/I raised the issue of electoral fraud with the Government.
I referenced the recent report published by the Electoral Reform Society which concluded the Government's plans to introduce voter ID checks will disenfranchise tens of thousands of voters.
